DIRECTOR, VA SAN DIEGO HEALTHCARE SYSTEM
Since 2016, Dr. Robert M. Smith has directed the VA San Diego Healthcare System, the nation’s largest integrated health system for military veterans. He also oversees the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs hospital in San Diego, where he has worked since 1993. The system cares for more than 86,000 veterans in San Diego and Imperial counties.
