Segal-Designed Apartment Building Sold

A Hillcrest apartment building designed by Jonathan Segal, an award-winning San Diego architect and developer, has been sold for $27.8 million.

Known as Mr. Robinson, the building at 3752 Park Blvd. was sold by Segal to River Oaks Apartments, LLC.

The building has 34 apartments in a mix of studio, two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments and 6,683 square feet of ground floor commercial space.

Tenants include HOB Coffee on Park and Trust restaurant.

Segal was represented by Ed Rosen and John Chu, managing directors of Berkadia, and Tyler Sinks, a senior director of Berkadia.  River Oaks Apartments represented itself.

“The sale of Mr. Robinson is significant because it represents the continued strength in the multifamily investment market despite broader market turbulence, and it highlights the pricing premium achieved for well-located, and exceptionally designed buildings,” Sinks said.
