S.D. Median Home Price Slips to $559,500 in January

San Diego resale home prices dipped in January as a seasonal shift dragged down the region’s sales activity, the Greater San Diego Association of Realtors reported.

The median sale price of an existing, single-family home slid 2 percent month over month to hit $559,500, SDAR said in a Feb. 9 news release. It said the median for condos and townhomes declined 4 percent to $378,750.

Year over year, the single-family median sale price represented a 6 percent increase. Condos’ and townhomes’ median increased 8 percent as compared with January 2016’s median.

The number of single-family home sales last month, 1,338, was 30 percent below that of December; year over year, the decrease was 1 percent.

For townhomes and condos, the month-over-month slowdown was 27 percent, but only 4 percent year over year.
