San Diego-based multifamily developer Wermers Properties has begun construction on Adagio on the Green, a $130 million, 256-unit luxury apartment project in Mission Viejo.
Wermers is partnering on the project with Watermarke Properties Inc. of Corona, Wermers said.
Developers are targeting a summer 2015 completion for the community, located in southern Orange County adjacent to Mission Viejo Country Club.
Apartment units will straddle Mission Viejo Creek, with a walking bridge connecting two living areas. There will be two resort-style pools, two fitness areas, a Wi-Fi lounge, game rooms and dedicated underground parking, among other amenities.
This is the fourth collaboration between the two developers, said Jeff Troesh, president of Watermarke Properties.
Wermers Properties is part of the larger Wermers Cos., a family-run business established in 1957 by James J. Wermers. The company for several years specialized in multifamily construction and is now active in development throughout Southern California, a Wermers spokeswoman said.
