L.A. Firm Buys, Sells Local Properties in 2 Deals Totaling $9.8 Million

Investment and development firm Western States Technologies Inc. of Los Angles has completed two industrial building transactions in San Diego County, with a total value of $9.8 million.

Company officials said Western States acquired a 36,936-square-foot Sorrento Mesa building, currently fully leased by Cobham Defence Electronics, for $6.3 million. The property at 10540 Heater Court was sold by Moxie Partners LLC.

Western States also sold a 32,441-square-foot research-and-development building at 2283 Cosmos Court in Carlsbad, for $3.5 million. The building was purchased by Skateoplex Inc., an ice rink owner that has received a conditional use permit to operate a public rink at that location.

Bryce Aberg, Brant Aberg and Brian Driscoll of Cassidy Turley represented the buyer and seller in the Sorrento Mesa transaction. Roger Carlson and Lannie Allee, of CBRE Group Inc.’s Carlsbad office, represented the buyer and seller in the Carlsbad deal.

Western States Technologies develops, acquires and rehabilitates industrial and office properties. It owns and manages a portfolio totaling more than 1 million square feet in six Southern California counties.
