January Home Values Rose 7.9 Percent Year Over Year

Home values in San Diego and Carlsbad leapt 7.9 percent in January from the year before, as the Northwest and Rocky Mountain states recorded some of the highest growth in the nation, according to a report Tuesday from CoreLogic.

CoreLogic’s Home Price Index, which measures home value appreciations, showed prices rose 6.9 percent nationwide since last January, including distressed sales. The national index is expected to rise another 5.5 percent by next January.

Washington, Colorado and Oregon were the three fastest-growing states, with more than 10 percent growth each. California values jumped 8.1 percent.
