Four Local Office Properties Receive BOMA Awards

The San Diego chapter of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) recently honored operators of four local commercial office properties at its annual The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) and member awards gala.

Receiving the TOBY award in the 100,000 to 249,999 square feet category was 4225 Executive Square at University Towne Center, owned by Irvine Co. LLC and managed by the company’s Madalyn Wariner.

UTC’s La Jolla Commons, owned by JP Morgan and managed by Teri Osokie of Hines, the project’s developer, won in the 250,000 to 499,999 square feet category.

In the 500,000 to 1 million square feet category, the award went to downtown San Diego’s Symphony Towers, owned by Irvine Co. and managed by the company’s Traci Pietras.

The award in the corporate facility category went to Kilroy Realty Corp.’s Del Mar Corporate Center III in Del Mar Heights, managed by Kilroy’s Bernadette Blanco.

A BOMA statement said local winners will advance to a regional competition, where one winner from each local contest will advance to eight subsequent regional competitions. Regional winners will compete for the organization’s annual BOMA International TOBY Award at a conference slated for June 25-28 in Washington, D.C.
