Property owner Emmes Realty Services LLC will have a new Crunch Fitness gym operating at its 701 B office tower later this year, following a $3.5 million renovation of the downtown San Diego building.
An Emmes statement said the company has leased a 30,000-square-foot space to Crunch franchisee CFG Downtown LLC, which plans to open a four-level venue called Crunch Fitness Downtown in the second half of 2016.
The venue will include a glass-enclosed atrium “cardio-deck” overlooking the renovated lobby, with elements including locker rooms, towel service and an advanced spin studio with state-of-the-art equipment. Other services will include personal and group training, hydrotherapy and tanning.
Officials said the new fitness center will have direct access from the lobby and street, with a retail reception area on the ground floor.
The 24-story tower at 701 B St. is one of four downtown office buildings owned and operated by Emmes Realty Services LLC, a division of Emmes Group of Cos., which has offices in New York City, San Diego and Irvine.
