Sudberry Properties is building so many apartment projects so fast that it is creating its own residential development division to oversee them.
The company has a portfolio of 1,350 apartments with 525 more under construction.
“With our growing residential multifamily portfolio, we’ve decided to bring property management in-house,” Colton Sudberry, president of Sudberry Properties, said in a prepared statement.
“Property management is already one of our core competencies,” Sudberry said, adding the company manages nearly 5 million square feet of commercial and mixed-use property throughout San Diego County.
“With our existing development of multi-family communities coming online over the next several years, we believe now is the time to expand our residential management capabilities.”
Among other projects, Sudberry Properties is the developer of the mixed-use community of Civita in Mission Valley.
The new division will have a staff of more than 20 headed by Diana Longoria as vice president of asset management.
