Civic San Diego, the non-profit agency overseeing projects in downtown and other city neighborhoods, has appointed Andrew Phillips to serve as interim president, following the recently announced departure of Jeff Graham.
Phillips is currently the agency’s chief financial officer and chief operating officer, and will retain those roles. Phillips has been with the agency for the past nine years.
The agency is in the process of initiating a local and nationwide search for Graham’s permanent replacement, with plans to name a new president within the next six months, a Civic San Diego spokeswoman said.
Graham recently informed the Civic San Diego board that he is resigning as president effective March 7. Graham is leaving to join the real estate services firm Jones Lang LaSalle, as a senior vice president for the company’s Western Division.
Jones Lang LaSalle officials said Graham will work in the company’s Public Institutions Group, working on projects throughout the Southwest and Northwest regions while remaining based in San Diego.
The institutions group provides consultative services to public agencies, with recent clients including University of California Merced.
Graham served during the past seven years as vice president and more recently as president of Civic San Diego, originally focused on downtown redevelopment and previously known as Centre City Development Corp., or CCDC.
