The new practice’s transaction areas will include those related to agriculture, wind and solar properties, as well as water rights. John Frager, CBRE’s executive managing director for the San Diego region, said both Marschalls have a “deep understanding” of market dynamics in agribusiness and natural resources, with a total of more than 40 years of experience in those areas.

Matt Marschall was previously an executive managing director for Cushman & Wakefield, leading that firm’s agribusiness and natural resources advisory group, and earlier was founder of The Land Group brokerage practice, headquartered in San Diego. Dylan Marschall was previously an appraiser for Cushman & Wakefield, specializing in agribusiness and natural resources.

A CBRE spokeswoman said the two will work on nationwide transactions, but their primary focus will be on western U.S., including California, Oregon, Washington and Hawaii.

CBRE Group Inc. (NYSE: CBG), a Fortune 500 and S&P 500 company, is the world’s largest commercial real estate services firm based on 2015 revenue. The company’s local operations include its main regional office in University Towne Center, with others in downtown San Diego and Carlsbad.
