World Trade Center Marks 9/11 Anniversary With Gathering

The World Trade Center San Diego will host a free event Sept. 8 to mark the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on New York and Washington, D.C.

Starting at 2 p.m., the public will be able to view displays and listen to speakers discuss world trade at the Port of San Diego Pavilion at Broadway and Harbor Drive. Eighty local companies involved in trade with Asia, Europe, the Middle East and South America will exhibit.

Dignitaries will walk from the County Administration Building to the pavilion at 4 p.m. A 4:30 p.m. memorial service will be followed by a free concert featuring Jefferson Starship, running from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

The World Trade Center San Diego is a member of the World Trade Center Association, whose New York offices were destroyed on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001.
