San Diego’s Big Brothers Big Sisters Announces New CEO

The nonprofit Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County announced that S. Wayne Kay will be its new chief executive officer and president.

Kay replaces chief executive officer Deborah Condon who retires after eight years serving the local chapter.

Kay will join the team June 1, bringing with him over 30 years of experience in the health care and life science industries. According to a news release from the company, Kay formerly served as president/chief executive officer and director of OncoGenesis Inc. a cervical cancer screening company in Silicon Valley. He comes into the role with not-for-profit executive experience and board leadership experience, with an emphasis on youth character and leadership development.

He also served as board chair for the Beta Theta Pi Foundation, raising $40 million for education and leadership development programs in the not-for-profit sector, according to the release. Kay is a Lifetime National Trustee and Pacific Region past board chair of the Boys & Girls Club of America.

Kay resides in Carmel Valley.

San Diego’s Big Brothers Big Sisters is a donor and volunteer-supported youth mentoring organization that provides teen leadership programs and school and workplace mentoring.
