If You Need Direction Downtown, Look for a Sign

Civic San Diego has completed a $1.9 million initiative to install 200 signs downtown aimed at helping pedestrians and bikers more easily find their way to attractions and government buildings.

The signs replace aging markers across eight neighborhoods that were only helpful to drivers, Civic San Diego said. The signs will also help drivers find their destinations more easily than the outdated versions, it said.

The project was funded through a reinvestment of dedicated parking-related revenue from the Downtown Community Parking District and a $355,000 grant from the San Diego Association of Governments.
