Score Launches Forum for Peers To Talk Business

Nonprofit business adviser San Diego Score announces the launch of a new program to offer one-on-one assistance to entrepreneurs in search of advice on how to better run their businesses. The agency’s new business enhancement forum brings together a dozen or so business owners in roundtable discussions, in which owners can give and receive peer insights. San Diego Score — which bills itself as mentors to America’s small businesses — also offers free mentoring and workshops for existing and new businesses. More information at sandiego.score.org … Local nonprofit Chairmen’s RoundTable, which provides pro bono mentoring and strategic insights to midsized businesses in the region, has announced that current Chairman Steven Mendell will serve a second term in 2013. Mendell is a veteran of the region’s biotech and medical device industries, and he will lead a newly elected board of nine trustees in 2013. Details at chairmensroundtable.org … The very active San Diego Venture Group, representing the region’s professional investors and entrepreneurs, holds its annual outlook breakfast on Jan. 24 in Del Mar. The early morning panel features Jason Mendelson, managing director of the Foundry Group (one of the hottest venture capital firms in the nation in the current difficult investing environment); Josh Green, general partner of Mohr Davidow Ventures; and David Kabakoff of Sofinnova Ventures. NBC 7/39’s Gene Cubbison, who hosts the station’s weekly “Politically Speaking” program, will serve as moderator for the event, set for the NewSchool of Architecture & Design in the East Village.
