Jensen Assumes Editor-in-Chief Post at SDBJ

Nels Jensen, a veteran journalist with experience in Southern California and Texas, has been named editor-in-chief of the San Diego Business Journal, Publisher Armon Mills announced July 11.

“Nels has an excellent background in print and digital media and as a business editor,” Mills said. “He will be a tremendous asset to the company and a key addition to our management team.”

Jensen, 53, who assumed his new position July 14, most recently was an editor and vice president of news and content with The Press-Enterprise in the Inland Empire. He has held a variety of roles in the industry, including three years as editor of The Business Press for the Press-Enterprise.

“This is a great opportunity,” Jensen said. “SDBJ has a long and successful history. I’m looking forward to being part of that and helping the Journal grow.”

Reo Carr remains in his role as executive editor, focusing on special projects and digital development, while Tony Quesada continues in his role as managing editor for the Journal.
