A unit of San Diego-based General Atomics says it has a European distributor for its aircraft de-icing fluids.
Cryotech Deicing Technology, the GA subsidiary based in Iowa, said it will go to market in Europe with the help of a Belgian company Proviron.
Cryotech manufactures propylene glycol-based aircraft deicers and anti-icers. It has formulated a product especially for use in Europe. Specifically, its Polar Plus (80) Type I deicer is a triazole-free propylene glycol fluid that does not contain nonylphenol ethoxylate surfactants.
The company said it will produce the chemicals in Europe.
Cryotech Deicing Technology is part of General Atomics International Services Corp. It also produces acetate-based highway, commercial and airport runway deicers.
General Atomics is privately held.
