Zego, a software company based in Sorrento Valley, has appointed Stephen Baker as president and general manager.
The company provides software to property owners that allows renters to pay their rent and utility bills online. The company also provides software that acts like an online concierge service for renters.
Baker is the former chief product officer of Zego.
Founded in 2003 as Paylease, Zego was acquired by Global Payments in June 2021. The company services 6,000 residential real estate companies that represent about 12 million units.
“Zego is a leader in the proptech and resident experience management space, and with Zego’s recent acquisition by Global Partners, we’re primed to accelerate our growth and expansion within the industry,” Baker said. “Our pay solution is already the strongest offering in the market. We will continue to leverage this core competency while doubling down on resident experience through continued innovation and partnership expansion.”
