Seismic Makes Diversity Moves

Seismic, a company that develops software for sales professionals, has appointed Donna DeBerry as its first diversity-focused executive, part of a strategy to foster and create an inclusive workforce.

DeBerry will take on the role of vice president of inclusion at Seismic. In addition to this position, DeBerry will continue to serve as the chief executive at the Central San Diego Black Chamber of Commerce.

“Donna’s arrival marks an important step in Seismic’s journey to becoming a more equitable and inclusive workplace,” said Doug Winter, co-founder and CEO at Seismic. “We are looking forward to leveraging her considerable expertise and experience and bringing positive change to our company.”

In her new role, DeBerry will report to Winter and will lead efforts to build a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workforce and company culture.

Partnering with Others

In 2019, Seismic launched Global DEI Council, an employee-led committee focused on providing recommendations for results-oriented strategies, methods of accountability, and the promotion of company-wide DEI education and communication. The group will work closely with the vice president of inclusion.

She will also partner with multiple business leaders across talent acquisition, people operations, marketing, customer success and others to establish sustainable and measurable best practices.

“Seismic is growing quickly, and I’m excited about the opportunity to build upon Seismic’s early work on an inclusion program,” said DeBerry. “I’m looking forward to partnering with our employees and other members of the Seismic community — and having fun while doing it”

Experienced Diversity Executive

DeBerry has been CEO of the Central San Diego Black Chamber of Commerce since January 2020, and brings more than 30 years’ experience leading diversity and inclusion programs at global organizations.

DeBerry previously was director of inclusion at Indeed. Before Indeed, she held leadership positions at Starbucks Corporation, Nike and Wyndham Worldwide, where she implemented diversity initiatives and strategies at a global scale.
