Ronald McDonald House has named Oscar Gomez as its new chief operations officer.
The decorated Marine Corps veteran brings years of experience to the role. Founded in 1980, the San Diego’s Ronald McDonald House provides lodging, meals, emotional support and family day services at no cost to over 15,000 families annually, allowing them to support their child through a medical crisis without adding financial strain.
Gomez spent over a decade managing operations and comprehensive training programs for Marines and sailors across various specialties in the United States Marine Corps. In his most recent role, Gomez was the deputy director of Head Start, Early Head Start and Early Head Start Childcare partnerships at the Metropolitan Area Advisory Committee on Anti-Poverty (MAAC).
Gomez joined the public service sector after leaving active duty. He earned dual master’s degrees in social work and public administration from the University of Southern California.
