The San Diego County Imperial Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SDCIVHCC) will officially sign an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Latin-American airlines VOLARIS (Concesionaria Vuela Compañía de Aviación S.A.P.I de C.V.). The signing will take place at 11 a.m. on May 2.
The collaborative partnership between the chamber and airline was initiated in 2021 with the creation of various programs and opportunities for business on both sides of the border. Volaris has participated extensively in the SDCIVHCC’s Binational Affairs, creating opportunities for cross border businesses — including a planned Aerospace Summit scheduled for September of this year in Queretaro, Mexico.
Ricardo Villa, the chamber’s president, said the MOU will allow SDCIVHCC and Volaris to work collaboratively to:
• Open up new markets and create cost-effective, safe opportunities for businesses and travelers throughout Latin America and California;
• Create Medical and Entrepreneurial convention opportunities in both regions;
• Participate in collaborative discussions regarding travel from the Imperial Valley – Mexicali region.
Understanding that communities need access to safe, reliable means to travel for personal, medical and businesses, SDCIVHCC and Volaris will be collaborating with CBX – Cross Border Xpress and other organizations to provide improved information and confidence to this sector of business.
The San Diego County Imperial Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce creates and promotes a favorable business climate for emerging businesses, building alliances to advance economic development and provide fair equitable access and support to the marketplace. SDCIVHCC also offers educational and cultural initiatives for the Greater San Diego and Imperial County community.
