The Armed Services YMCA San Diego is brightening the holidays for area military children, giving toys to 1,000 military kids this morning.
The popular holiday event, from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday at the Murphy Canyon Chapel (3200 Santo Road), will include members of the San Diego Padres and other professional sports teams.
“Many of our military families struggle this time of year” said Tim Ney, executive director of the San Diego Armed Services YMCA. “We are extremely grateful that we can provide support to our military families during this holiday season.”
