Mike Easter has been named managing director of Dekel Capital as the Los Angeles-based real estate merchant bank opens a San Diego County office.
Easter is a former vice president and area capital markets manager of JPI Companies based in Carmel Valley.
“While we find financial solutions for commercial real estate investments and developments throughout the country, the vast majority of our clients are located in Southern California, with a growing number of those in San Diego and Orange counties,” said Shlomi Ronen, managing principal of Dekel Capital. “Having an office in San Diego will (enable) us to better serve these clients while also giving us the additional bandwidth with which to effectively expand our operations.”
Easter said he would work out of Carlsbad.
“Our strategy is we are a boutique advisory firm so we’re not looking to be the biggest. We are really high touch,” Easter said.
Dekel is looking to partner with firms on “projects that have a good story” and are well located.
“It’s a great time in the market. Certainly, there’s a lot of uncertainty in the market because of COVID,” Easter said.
At the same time, Easter said “there’s really more capital than we’ve ever seen before, trying to find investments.”
