Operators of locally based Western-style burger restaurant chain Boll Weevil plan to open a new location in Santee, according to a filing with the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
Hackley Murphy Enterprises has applied for a liquor license at 9621 Mission Gorge Road, Suite 101. The location is the former site of Michael’s Grill.
The full-service restaurant company opened its first Boll Weevil in 1967 and currently has five San Diego County locations.
