San Diego Business Journal Waste management services provider Ingenium has acquired WSR Environmental and Safety Management (WSR) in a deal announced Dec. 2. The purchase price was not disclosed.
 
Ingenium, which provides a broad array of waste management services and specializes in packaging, transportation, recycling and disposal of hazardous, non-hazardous, biological, universal and radioactive waste, is based in Escondido.

The company helps its customers manage their hazardous waste program, maintaining budgets and meeting regulatory demands while protecting employees, the community and the environment.
 
Ingenium also assists in the process of reducing and recycling wastes to achieve sustainability goals.  


With the WSR acquisition, Ingenium adds environmental health and safety (EH&S) consulting services, including safety planning, program management, training, environmental permits and interfacing with regulatory agencies. These additional services will enable Ingenium to provide comprehensive waste management and environmental, health and safety compliance to its clients.

Scott Rendleman, founder of WSR and co-founder at Ingenium, is also Ingenium’s chief compliance officer.

 
Rendleman launched WSR in 1999 to serve clients throughout California. He said the acquisition will strengthen Ingenium’s portfolio of services.

Rendleman, who is a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), has over 30 years of experience in the hazardous material and safety arena working with companies in the biotech, computer, military, automotive, real estate, governmental and educational fields.

 
Founded in 2006, Ingenium is positioned along the entire West Coast and Texas, with multiple ten-day hazardous waste transfer facilities.
