Farmers Insurance announced that it donated $50,000 to the San Diego Fire Rescue Foundation and the San Diego Police Foundation, nonprofit organizations that provide resources, safety programs and other community programs. The contribution is a result of the donation program benefiting first responders that Farmers implemented at Torrey Pines Golf Course during the most recent Farmers Insurance Open.

Additional funds to support the San Diego Fire Rescue and San Diego Police Foundations were raised through ticket sales to the Farmers Cares Club, an onsite hospitality venue supported exclusively by Farmers agents, employees, and their guests.

Farmers Insurance, the Century Club of San Diego and local first responders gathered at Station 45 in San Diego recently for a special ceremony and a breakfast sponsored by Operation BBQ Relief, a nonprofit founded by a former Farmers Insurance employee that helps feed displaced residents and emergency personnel after natural disasters. Leesa Eichberger, head of brand marketing at Farmers Insurance, presented a check for $25,000 each to the San Diego Fire Rescue and San Diego Police Foundations.
