Villa Musica, San Diego’s community music center, held its “Spring Musicale” at the home of board member Lacey Logan in Del Mar. The event raised more than $10,000 for its community music education programs, including private lessons, group ensembles and summer camps. The nonprofit center serves 600 people of all ages at its Sorrento Valley location and another 600 students through neighborhood satellite sites that offer free programs to low-income families throughout San Diego County. Founded in 2005, Villa Musica strives to inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to explore the joy and lifelong value of music through education, performance and community engagement.

Founder and Executive Director Fiona Chatwin, said: “Villa Musica’s goal is to create a focal point for community music education in San Diego where students and teachers can meet to exchange ideas and experience the joy of making music. By creating a supportive and creative environment for the study of music, we aim to inspire many San Diegans to make music-making part of their lives.”
