Escondido Brewing Co. won the First Annual Brewdown Beer Competition last weekend, donating the $5,000 donation prize to local nonprofit Wounded Warrior Homes. EBC won the competition with their Hopcondido IPA beer, an American India Pale Ale with juicy citrus notes. The West Coast style IPA is packed full of mosaic, citra, columbus and centennial hops.

For the competition and beer festival, brewers were able to choose a charity of their choice for a $5,000 donation. EBC selected Wounded Warrior Homes, a grassroots charitable nonprofit chartered to provide transitional housing to single post-9/11 veterans with traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress. Wounded Warrior Homes will use the $5,000 donation to continue to support its mission of providing transitional services and a safe place to call home to veterans in San Diego.
