Classics 4 Kids, a nonprofit founded in 1994 to fill the gap in music education in the nation’s schools, recently kicked off its 25th anniversary season with a fall garden party in Rancho Santa Fe. In addition to raising $60,000 for the program, the event honored Artistic Director and Conductor Dana Zimbric’s 15th year of creating innovative, original live orchestra programs for elementary school students in the San Diego area. Classics 4 Kids is the only performing arts organization in San Diego whose sole focus is education. Its in-school workshops and concerts inspire elementary school students through the experience of music to generate creativity, academic success and cultural understanding. Classics 4 Kids’ educational programs have served nearly 30,000 students, teachers and families and it works toward its mission of inspiring children through the experience of music, generating creativity, academic success and cultural understanding.
