Harper Gets Military Construction Deals at Camp Pendleton, Fort Sill

Harper Construction Co. recently won two Pentagon construction contracts.

The U.S. Army awarded Harper a $44.1 million contract for work on basic training barracks Building 6007 at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. The Army calls the unique building design a “starship barracks.” The Army Corps of Engineers in Tulsa, Oklahoma awarded the work. There were eight bidders.

The U.S. Navy awarded Harper a $34.4 million task order to build the second phase of the Ammunition Supply Point Upgrade at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. Under the deal, Harper will demolish eight existing high-explosive magazines and build nine new low-rise, earth-covered high-explosive magazines. The Navy has two options which, if exercised, would bring the value of the task order to $40.4 million. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest in San Diego awarded the task order, receiving five bids.

Work on both projects is expected to last through the autumn of 2020. Both of the contract wins were announced Sept. 27.
