Terry Loftus leads the Information Services, Educational Technology and Information Technology teams for the Oceanside Unified School District. He has conceived, planned and executed numerous projects to optimize business processes and reduce costs. He co-wrote and served as project manager for a Department of Defense Education Activity grant, which resulted in Oceanside Unified being awarded $1.5 million to support new devices, equipment and STEM curriculum for military-connected students at Camp Pendleton. This grant has put new mobile devices (including iPads and laptops) into the hands of nearly 2,000 military students as well as new STEM curriculum which included robotics and other project-based materials. He and his team also championed the Cox Connect2Compete program, providing low-cost internet services to disadvantaged families in Oceanside.

Loftus also oversaw a comprehensive launch of Google’s G-Suite for Education, successfully migrating more than 22,000 student and staff email, calendar, documents and contacts and leading a year-long training program for the transition.

He also led a comprehensive Digital Citizenship program to educate students how to safely, responsibly, and ethically leverage technology. The program resulted in an award for Oceanside Unified as a Digital Citizenship Certified District by Common Sense Media.
