Co-Founder, Cohn Restaurant Group
David Cohn, the son of a Midwest grocer, and his wife Lesley opened their first restaurant in 1982, a burger joint on Mission Gorge Road. Since then, they have amassed an eclectic collection of nearly two dozen restaurants throughout San Diego County, including Coasterra, The Prado at Balboa Park, Indigo Grill, BO-beau, and 333 Pacific. They co-founded the Garfield School Foundation in 1996, a culinary arts program for at-risk youths, and have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to support the school. David Cohn is currently a board member of the SDSU Hospitality and Tourism Management Program, California Restaurant Association, Gaslamp Quarter Association, past president for The San Diego Restaurant Association, and past chairman of the board for the San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau.
