Cubic Corp. said Aug. 20 that it received a $27 million contract from the Canadian military.

Under the deal, Cubic Global Defense will deliver urban military operations training capability to the Canadian Weapon Effects Simulation environment at military bases on the Great Plains and East Coast.

“Once delivered, the Canadian system will be one of the most advanced Urban Operations Training Systems anywhere in the world,” said Dave Buss, president of Cubic Global Defense.

Work is expected to last through 2019 at Canadian Forces Base Gagetown and through 2020 at the Canadian Manoeuvre Training Centre Wainwright, all in time for a military exercise in 2021.

Cubic shares trade on the New York Stock Exchange as CUB.
