LRAD Corp. reported a net loss of $80,000 on revenue of $7.5 million in its third quarter, which ended June 30. Comprehensive loss was $292,000, as LRAD recorded a $217,000 unrealized foreign currency loss. The business reported its results Aug. 14.
LRAD had a net loss of $528,000 in the same quarter of 2017. Revenue for that quarter was $4.1 million.
The Rancho Bernardo business makes mass notification systems and long-range voice broadcast systems. Governments and militaries use the products, and law enforcement uses them for riot control. The San Diego County company recently acquired Genasys, a maker of emergency warning software based in Spain.
