Biocom’s C-Suite Expands as Organization Stretches North

Biocom’s expansion throughout California has led the life science trade group to promote two senior level employees to executive positions.

Jimmy Jackson, the company’s senior vice president, was promoted to chief policy officer, and Rick Fultz, Biocom’s vice president of business development, was promoted to chief business development officer.

“As Biocom’s presence continues to evolve and grow throughout the state of California, specifically in the San Francisco and Los Angeles regions, Mr. Fultz and Mr. Jackson’s promotions come at a crucial and necessary period in our organization’s development,” said Joe Panetta, chief executive officer and president of Biocom, in a statement. “Given their deep history of serving our members, I am confident that they will continue to elevate Biocom during this time of expansion.”

Jackson will oversee Biocom’s governmental affairs, policy development and policy-related programming. Jackson has worked with Biocom since 2005, building relationships with policy makers for over a decade. Before Biocom, Jackson served as the chief of staff for now-retired California State Sen. Dede Alpert.

Fultz will lead Biocom’s membership, sponsorship, and fundraising efforts, along with growth and partnering initiatives. According to a Biocom statement, Fultz has led partnerships with the County of Los Angeles, Advamed, and Thermo Fisher Scientific, and he is “actively trailblazing” for Biocom in the Bay Area.
