Kratos Defense & Security Solutions Inc. reported a net loss of $4.3 million, or 7 cents per share, on revenue of $182.1 million for its fourth quarter, which ended Dec. 25. In the same quarter of 2015, the business reported a net loss of $4.0 million, or 7 cents per share, on revenue of $177.5 million.
University City-based Kratos (Nasdaq: KTOS) is a parent company for businesses specializing in defense electronics, unmanned systems, satellite electronics and security technology.
For 2016 as a whole, Kratos reported a net loss of $60.5 million, or 99 cents per share, on revenue of $668.7 million. Annual revenue grew 1.8 percent from 2015, when the company reported revenue of $657.1 million and net income of $19.8 million, or 34 cents per share.
Kratos reported its financial results on Feb. 27. The company said it had a $900 million backlog of work, with funded backlog of $626 million and unfunded backlog of $274 million. Kratos said it was looking at a bid and proposal pipeline of $5.7 billion.
