SeaPort Airlines Discontinues Service to San Diego

SeaPort Airlines, a Portland, Ore.-based carrier with routes in eight U.S. states and Mexico, announced that it was discontinuing service to nine destinations in California and Mexico, including San Diego.

The company said customers will be issued a full refund for unused tickets.

“The company was forced to take this action because of the impact on SeaPort’s business and operations following the effects of the shortage of airline pilots in the United States,” according to the announcement.

The airline also halted service in San Felipe in Baja, Calif.

SeaPort started offering service to San Diego International Airport in October 2014.

Other cities losing service are Sacramento, Visalia, Burbank, Imperial, Salina, Kan., Great Bend, Ind. and Kansas City.
