National City Mixed-Use Complex Sells for $22 Million

A buyer listed as Haborview Partners LLC has acquired Harborview, an 81-unit, mixed-use apartment complex in National City for $22 million, according to brokerage company CBRE Group Inc.

The seller of the property, at 819 D Ave., was Birge & Held Asset Management of Carmel, Indiana. The buyer, with Carolyn Kutzke as its managing member, was represented by CBRE’s Dixie Hall, Kevin Mulhern and Rachel Parsons, and the seller represented itself.

Brokers said the property was first built in 2005 as a 75-unit luxury condo complex with 18,000 square feet of retail space. The seller purchased it partially completed from the lender in 2009 and converted the majority of its ground-floor retail space into six additional loft-style units.

The complex has been operated as a rental property since its completion. According to CoStar Group, the buyer is an affiliate of Phoenix-based Signature Holdings II LLC.
