San Diego-Based SupraMed Acquired By Florida Company

San Diego’s SupraMed, which makes medical practice management software for plastic surgeons, has been acquired by Palm Beach, Florida-based Nextech.

Financial details were not disclosed.

Instead of closing up shop and moving SupraMed’s headquarters, Nextech told SupraMed to stay put. The Florida health tech firm is also beefing up SupraMed’s local staff, planning to add six software developers over the next six months.

SupraMed, founded in 2011 by two San Diego plastic surgeons, has a web-based technology that complements Nextech’s existing software-as-a-service. The addition of SupraMed’s software will help the Florida company strengthen its offering with plastic surgery specialists, according to a Nextech news release.

SupraMed co-founder Dr. Robert Pollack will step into an advisory role with Nextech, the news release said
