eSUB Construction Software Hires Chief Technology Officer

eSUB Construction Software, a San Diego software-as-a-service company that offers subcontractors a mobile platform for project management, recently announced it has hired a new CTO.

Ronald Hegli, an industry veteran, comes to eSUB from UK-based Critical Mass Engineering, where he was chief engineering officer and worked with several early-stage companies. He will also serve as the company’s vice president of engineering, eSUB said in a statement.

Previously, Hegli worked at computer security software company Websense, now Forcepoint, where he led a 100-person engineering department with a budget of $12 million; he also served as CTO at BrightCloud and Awarepoint.

“Having worked with many technology companies during periods of rapid growth, I’m delighted to be joining eSUB Construction Software at the right time,” Hegli said in a statement. “Construction subcontractors are demanding a mobile and cloud-based solution to help them gain better business results, and eSUB is primed to deliver.”

The company says thousands of users use its platform to manage and collaborate on projects.

Hegli, who has a bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering from Oregon State University and a master’s degree in engineering from UC Berkeley, holds 10 internet and software patents, according to eSUB.
