Petco Park is the latest expansion site for San Diego-based The Patio Restaurant Group, led by local entrepreneur Gina Champion-Cain. The Patio in Left Field debuted on opening day for the San Diego Padres, in left field sections 128 and 228.

Operators said the new eatery features upscale and locally sourced versions of ballpark staples like hot dogs and fries, with a menu devised by Executive Chef John Medall.

Patio Restaurant Group has existing full-service Patio restaurants in Pacific Beach and Mission Hills, with a backyard-themed venue set to open later this year at Liberty Station in Point Loma.
