San Diego-based Abacus Data Systems Inc., which offers information technology services to the legal community, said on Sept. 4 that it opened a third office with 5,300 square feet and 50 work stations.

The privately held business has added 50 staff members in the past six months, bringing total employment to 78 people. Annual revenue has risen from $8 million to $16 million, according to a company representative.

The business, based in the University Towne Center neighborhood, offers case management, bookkeeping and billing systems to the legal community. It recently introduced Abacus Private Cloud, a fully managed virtual office solution. Abacus emphasizes that its support staff is based in the United States.

Abacus has data centers in San Diego and Houston. Alessandra Lezama is the business’ CEO.
