Active Network, which relocated its headquarters to Dallas in August, celebrated the opening of that office with a charity challenge, aimed at placing children into sports activities.
In July, the company that was acquired by Vista Equity Partners for about $1 billion last year, announced it was moving out of San Diego after obtaining an $8.6 million commitment from the state of Texas.
At that time, Active, a provider of online registration and management services, said the company would create about 1,000 jobs in Texas. It also said then it would maintain some presence in San Diego where the business was launched in 1998.
Active, which had about $419 million in revenue in 2012, was one of several San Diego companies that moved headquarters to the Lone Star State. Websense and Omnitracs, two other companies acquired by Vista Equity Partners, moved there, and Petco Animals Supplies moved parts of its operations to Texas.
