San Diego-based SeniorQuote Insurance Services Inc. has completed a $1.4 million Series A round. The company, which helps seniors sort through the various Medicare services available to them, said it will use the funding to expand its sales and operations platform nationally.

Funding has come from Tech Coast Angels, a large network of private investors with a chapter in San Diego, which made its initial investment in SeniorQuote in November, splitting $1 million in funding between SeniorQuote and a digital music startup called Rock My World.

The company’s licensed agents assess a senior’s needs over the phone to help them make an informed decision regarding their future health coverage, SeniorQuote CEO Bill Haynor said in a statement.
