San Diego State University has completely banned smoking from its campus – including electronic cigarettes.
The school used to allow smoking in 12 designated areas on campus, as well as in parking lots – but following pressure from faculty and students announced the ban Dec. 30.
There are about 1,100 smoke-free colleges and universities in the U.S., according to the American Nonsmokers Rights Foundation. All University of California and San Diego County community colleges are smoke-free.
