Qualcomm Inc. said its Snapdragon 801 processor is powering Samsung’s newest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S5.

Quacomm’s Snapdragon 400 processor is also contained in the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2. Both chipsets are products of Qualcomm Technologies, a division of Qualcomm Inc.

Murthy Renduchintala, executive vice president of Qualcomm Technologies, said with the integrated 4G LTE connectivity and camera technology in the Snapdragon processors, Samsung’s customers enjoy advanced multimedia and higher performance features.

The 801 Snapdragon offers download speeds of up to 150 megabytes per second, the company said.
