Peregrine Semiconductor Corp., the San Diego maker of radio frequency integrated circuits, said it is the supplier of the main antenna switch for the Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-Advanced smartphone.

The company said its switch was selected for “its ability to support simultaneous multiband operation of up to 14 frequency bands while delivering exceptional linearity, insertion loss performance and small size.”

The Galaxy S4 is touted as the first ever implementation on the 4G LTE-A network. According to Samsung, a three-minute download over 4G LTE would take only one minute on a 4G LTE-A network.
