RQ Construction Co. Inc. of Carlsbad has received a task order of approximately $13.9 million to renovate three barracks at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado.
The fixed-price order, under a previously announced multiple-award contract, calls for work including repair and repainting of floors and ceilings, and replacement of windows, bathroom and air conditioning fixtures. RQ will also do soil stabilization, seismic upgrades and structural repairs, according to the U.S. Defense Department.
Work will be performed in Coronado and is expected to be completed by Oct. 2015. Six competitive proposals were received online by the contracting authority, Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest in San Diego.
