Robert Horsman, the former CEO and president of San Diego National Bank, is joining Torrey Pines Bank as market executive for the San Diego region.

Horsman's arrival comes as the $1.95 billion Torrey Pines Bank celebrates its 10th anniversary. He will be working to grow the bank’s customers. He reports to CEO Gary Cady.

After San Diego National Bank was sold in 2009 by regulators to U.S. Bank, Horsman was retained by U.S. Bank as its regional chairman for two years. Horsman was part of the original founding members of SDNB in 1981. The bank ran aground after its parent company, FBOP, suffered significant losses in 2008 from ill-timed investments in Fannie Mae stock.
