The U.S. Department of Defense reported that it awarded San Diego-based Epsilon Systems Solutions a $21.6 million contract for technical services.

The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division awarded the contract.

Epsilon’s Mission Solutions Group will offer technical services for environmental resources projects supporting the weapons division’s range department. Work will be divided among China Lake, in California’s high desert, and San Nicolas Island. San Nicolas is the most remote of the Channel Islands off Southern California, some 65 miles off Point Mugu in Ventura County.

Some 10 percent of the work will be performed on the other side of the country, at Patuxent River, Md.

Work will run through 2018.

The Navy reported that it solicited 13 companies and received bids from three.
